You can vote on projects who have applied for funding from £250 to £1,000 to benefit our local community.

Come along and vote on whose bid should be successful, remember the more we have there the better the chance of a grant.

Saturday 6th August Honk Jr

2.30pm & 7.00pm Culmination of the hard work put in by the children and staff of this year’s summer workshop. Honk Jr tells the story of the Ugly duckling in a fabulous musical. Those who saw the previous shows presented by the workshop children know they are not to be missed and this is no exception.

Wednesday 10th August Panto Meeting

7.00pm A get-together to talk about this year’s FHODS pantomime, ‘Mother Goose’. This is the night to find out the songs, the script and the parts available. The bar will be open.

Friday 12th August Lucy Pamper day

7.00pm Come along the Tower and be pampered. All funds raised are to support FHODS star Lucy Freeman in her next year at drama school in New York.

Tuesday 15th August Auditions

7.30pm On Friday 2nd September FHODS and Look Now Entertainment will be bringing a new show to the area. If you have talent or the ‘X’ factor come along and audition. The auditions are open to all potential stars or any age. If chosen at the auditions you will be performing at the Tower Theatre in this new show, called Live at the Tower.

FHODS latest production is The Matchgirls, a modern musical based on the Bryant and May Match Girl strike of 1888, book written by Bill Owen, known to many as the irrepressible ‘Compo’ from The Last of the Summer Wine and music written by Tony Russell. This telling of a true story that is both sad and funny but is guaranteed to leave you with a warm glow.

The Matchgirls will have four superb musicians in the ‘pit’ led by Richard Baulch and terrific dancing choreographed by Maxine Burrows, whose last production for FHODS, Palace of Varieties is up for a national award.

The Matchgirls runs from the 28^th June till the 2^nd July at 7.30pm nightly. Tickets are £10.00/ £8.00 concessions with party booking rates available (£5 tickets for children under 14).

Lights Up Productions are back to the Tower Theatre this April presenting their latest musical production -

This hilarious comedy musical about dating, singles, marriage and children will have you roaring with laughter. As an antidote to this miserable winter, the Tower Theatre has decided to lighten people’s hearts with a Joyce Grenfell review performed by some of FHODS’ best actresses. Anne Mortimer who has devised and directed this show based on the works of this fabulous all-round entertainer, says, “Who can resist meeting ‘George’ again at his nursery school, not to mention the ladies who indulge in a spot of old time dancing? What is causing the ‘Terrible Worrier’ even more worry and how is dear ‘Lumpy Latimer’? Come and meet these old friends plus many more at the Tower Theatre, you will not be disappointed”.
