CHANNEL 4  - THE JOY OF TEEN SEX SERIES II

Sex is the most important thing in a teenager’s life….and the biggest worry for their parents…

If you’re a parent, concerned about what your teenagers are getting up to in the bedroom, we want to hear from you.

• Do you think your teenager is addicted to porn?
• What do you do when your son says he wants to have unprotected sex?
• Do you think your teenager is sleeping around?
• Has your teenager told you they’re bi-sexual?
• Is your daughter a virgin, but you fear her boyfriend is pressuring her into having sex?

TV production company betty is making a second series of The Joy of Teen Sex, featuring frank and candid discussion of sexually aware teens. We want to talk to teenagers and their parents who would like sex and relationship advice from a team of professionals.

No issue is off limits.

This prime-time series offers a revealing, candid and thought-provoking insight into sex and relationship issues affecting teenagers and their parents in Britain today.

Our aim, working alongside dedicated professionals, is to provide a platform for teenagers and parents to discuss the emotional, physical and psychological pressures young people face when they are seeking to forge loving relationships.

We will feature the walk-in advice centre again, staffed by an experienced team of sexual health professionals, where young people and parents can seek help and support on any query – no issue is off limits. We are keen to talk to potential contributors-teenagers and their parents who are interested in taking part in this segment of the programme. With this in mind, we would be extremely grateful if you add the call-out below to your intranet? Any help spreading the word is much appreciated and do please let me know if we’d be able to send some posters for you to display in any shared areas.

To reassure you, we take our responsibility as programme makers very seriously and will treat all follow up enquiries with sensitivity and respect.  We are mindful of our duty of care to contributors and our obligation to seek parental consent for those who are under the age of 18.

105.9 Academy FM, Folkestones new community radio station, has announced that it will go on air at 12 noon on Thursday 31 March 2011. Broadcasting from the Folkestone Academy, the station will serve the communities of Folkestone, offering a comprehensive variety of programmes 24 hours a day, and will be commercial free.

Folkestones new radio station has been set up as an independent charity, and is funded entirely by charitable contributions. One of its primary aims is educational: 105.9 Academy FM will encourage young people to get involved, whether they are students at the Folkestone Academy or at one of the other places of learning in the town. It is hoped that the station will also become a focal point for community groups and local charities to help them promote their work and gather support.

105.9 Academy FM Station Manager David Sharp said: We plan to broadcast an entertaining mix of music and speech. Programming will be varied, and local people will present shows and play music that is not often heard on other local radio stations. We intend to feature music made in Kent every hour of every day to ensure that our talented local artists can be heard.

WINTER PLAY DAY: COASTAL PARK FOLKESTONE Thursday 24th Feb. – 11am-3pm Come to the amphitheatre area at the coastal park tomorrow for a range of fun, outdoor play focusing on natural play (whatever the weather!). Straw bales for building, leaf collages, pebble painting, bug hunting, stick weaving. Be prepared to get dirty and wear warm clothes. Shepway District Council

Children at Sandgate Primary School have put together an exhibition with help from Mrs Goldsmith - History Coordinator and Teacher.

With paintings, poems, news items from national papers from the time, wartime memorabilia and pictures from that period in history the children have put together a collage depicting WW1.

The exhibition can be seen at Sandgate Library, Sandgate High Street, Sandgate , Kent, CT20 3RR.

I will be holding a one-off energy surgery in Pent Valley Technology College between 3.30pm and 5.30pm on Friday 12th November to offer local residents advice on the free insulation and reduced tariffs that they may be entitled to. I would appreciate it if you could pass on these details to anyone you think may be interested.

To organise the surgery, I have partnered with the Home Heat Helpline, a free service set up by Britain’s energy companies to advise households on how they can keep warm and save money on their energy bills by making their homes more efficient.

This constituency has a high proportion of households entitled to free help with their fuel bills. Independent think tank the New Policy Institute recently conducted research showing that nearly one quarter (23 per cent) of households in Folkestone and Hythe could be entitled to free insulation paid for by their energy companies.

The energy surgery will take place between 3.30pm – 5.30pm on Friday 12th November at Pent Valley Technology College, Surrenden Road, Folkestone, Kent, CT19 4ED. There is no need to book an appointment, you can just turn up between these hours.
