SUNDAY 14th, 3pm: RECITAL BY Dorothee Jansen (soprano) at St Leonard’s Church, Hythe - singing Italian bel canto, baroque to romantic, accompanied by Hanns Heinz Odenthal (violin), Rachel Waltham (cello) and Haydn Rawstron (piano) in a programme that will include Italian arias by Caccini, Giordani, Pergolesi, A Scarlatti, Handel (known to the Italians of his day as il caro sassone), Mozart (regarded by many Italian musicians as ‘an Italian composer’) and Bellini – plus other baroque composers. FRIDAY 19th, 8pm: Dreadzone at Quarterhouse, Tontine Street, Folkestone. With their eclectic fusion of dub reggae, techno, trance and folk, 2009 saw Dreadzone play to huge crowds at festivals and venues around the UK and Europe.
