Friday 12th 7pm –8.30pm: The Folkestone Roman Villa - results of the 2010 excavation and plans for the 2011. Speaker: Keith Parfitt- Canterbury Archaeological Trust and Director of the Roman Villa site; accompanied by a display of finds from the site.
Saturday 13th 7pm-8.30 pm: The House on the cliffs: The East Wear Bay villa and images of Roman Kent in the novels of Rosemary Sutcliffe. Speaker: Andy Brockman, Research Director of “The Digging Dad’s Army Project,” a community based research project investigating the archaeology and experience of 20th century conflict in south London.
Hands On Archaeology for Kids Sat 6th Nov 10am–3pm: a workshop for kids and families looking at the exciting world of archaeology. Join Marion Green from Canterbury Archaeological trust to find out how it works and what it can tell us about the past.

Folkestone Decorative & Fine Arts Society
Thursday 25 November at 2.30pm – The Viennese Secession: Klimt, Otto Wagner, Mahler & Schoenberg. In an illustrated lecture, flavoured with music, Elizabeth Gordon describes how a new spark of creativity was born in Vienna at the end of the 19th century, with far reaching results.
