Folkestone Triennial invite artists, musicians, writers and arts groups to network and exchange ideas.
Shepway District Council and Folkestone Triennial invite artists, musicians, writers and arts groups from Folkestone, Hythe, Romney Marsh and the surrounding areas to network and exchange ideas.
We want to support local creative people who may wish to stage events/activities during the Triennial without excluding any artist who wants to be involved. We actively encourage a satellite of self-organised projects, exhibitions and events, without need for a selection committee or the need to reflect the themes of the Triennial.
Date: Thursday 28 October 2010, 6-7.30pm
Venue: Quarterhouse, 45 Tontine Street, Folkestone, Kent CT20 1JT
Event is free: advanced booking would be helpful for catering purposes - please call 01303 858500 to book your space.
Programme for the evening:
Andrea Schlieker presents Folkestone Triennial themes and artists taking part.
Amanda Oates from Shepway District Council chairs an informal networking forum to exhange ideas.
Topics for discussion include:
- Tips for raising funds for your project
- Job and volunteering opportunities
- Locations
- Promotional opportunities
- Helpful contacts
Please forward this email to any other creative contacts you have who may be interested in attending.
About Folkestone Triennial 2011:
The Folkestone Triennial takes place from 25 June to 25 September 2011. 19 international artists have been commissioned to create new works for Folkestone’s streets, squares, beaches and historic buildings to create a cutting-edge contemporary art exhibition in the public domain. Visit www.folkestonetriennial.org.uk for more information. Follow FT2011 on Twitter and join the Folkestone Triennial Facebook group.
The Triennial has become a key component of the arts-led regeneration project underway in Folkestone. Overseen and driven by the Creative Foundation, the three-yearly event marks an important milestone in national and international recognition of the area, and has already helped to draw interest and investment in our rapidly developing seaside town.
